If you are anything like me, you are still having difficulty writing “2022” but here we are; the first meeting of your CVCSD Board of Directors for 2022! Ken Albertson will be leading this meeting as President for the year, with Scott Baker serving as Vice President. We are very much appreciative of the leadership of 2021 Board President Larry Hoffman who led us through the fastest year on record.
Our first meeting for the year will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 2:00PM at the Lodge. We start off 2022 with an update of the Management Objectives for the District General Manager. This Board exercise is a unique opportunity for the public to provide input on the manager’s workplan for the upcoming 18 months – what you would like to see the District accomplish. After reviewing the past year’s objectives and accomplishments, and receiving public input, the Board will establish the management objectives.
The draft audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021 are included in the agenda packet below, and the District’s independent auditor will present the financial statements and answer questions at the Board’s February 2022 meeting. The Board will also consider approval of an updated wage schedule for maintenance employees, hear an update on the status of the operating agreement with CV Partners and consider a vote of support for the proposed sales tax to fund the fire department. We would like to welcome you to attend the regular Meeting of your Copper Valley CSD to be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Copper Valley Lodge. The focus of the meeting will be on receiving an update on the construction of new roads occurring within the CVCSD service area and planned for dedication to the District on completion. In addition, the Board will be discussing the possibility of evaluating the total compensation offered to employees due to significant recent changes in the labor market and difficulty seen by the CSD in attracting employees. The Board of Directors of the Copper Valley CSD will be conducting its regular meeting at 2:00PM on August 17, 2021 at the Lodge at Copper Valley. As always, your CSD meetings are open to the public and you are welcome and encouraged to attend. At this meeting, your Board of Directors will be discussing a plan for the long term maintenance of our wonderful road system, selection of an engineer for technical project design, material specification, permitting, construction inspection and other professional assistance. We will also have updates on the agreement between CV Development Partners and the CSD for inspection and the conditions for acceptance of the road and storm drain infrastructure bein built in the Quail Creek development of Copper Valley. DRY GRASS AND WEEDS CAUSING FIRE HAZARD
The drought conditions and hot weather have taken a toll on the weeds and tall grass on vacant lots, causing an early start to fire season and earlier than usual end to our green rolling hills. During Spring of past years, Copper Valley CSD has notified vacant lot owners of the need to remove grass and weeds and if we didn’t hear from them and the lot was not cleared by Summer, the CSD would simply mow the weeds and send a bill. Unfortunately, this year the procedure had to become more formal with a written property owner agreement signed to allow the CSD to enter private property to perform the work.
In an attempt to simplify and expedite the property owner agreement and mowing process, if you own a vacant lot and would like the CSD to mow your vacant lot, we request that you immediately complete the agreement contained in this notice and return by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The fee for the mowing service is $75.00. Upon submitting the agreement form as soon as possible via email, please mail a check to the Copper Valley CSD at:
