Measure “A” Appreciation, May 10, 2017 by Peter J. Kampa, General Manager
The Board of Directors and staff of the Saddle Creek CSD wish to extend sincere thanks to the voters, residents and property owners in Saddle Creek for their support of Measure A on May 2, 2017. As of May 10 all ballots have been received, validated and counted by the County Elections Department with the following results:
Yes . . . . . . . . . . . . 191 votes 69.20%
No. . . . . . . . . . . . . 85 votes 30.80%
Total ballots received. . . . . . 276
An affirmative vote of 67% of the registered voters was required to allow the CSD Board of Directors to levy the special tax authorized by Measure A. The election results will be certified by the county within the next few weeks, and the CSD will also hold a public meeting later this month or in June to accept the election results. The CSD’s June Board meeting will also likely include consideration of establishing the first year Measure A spending plan, creating reserves, and approving the amount of the 2017/2018 special tax levy to be placed on the tax rolls. Sign up and stay tuned for meeting dates and times.
Again we want to thank the many took time out of their afternoons and weekends to participate in the four town hall meetings on Measure A, and then to spread the word on what they heard to their friends and neighbors. We thank all of those who attended the meetings, called us directly, spoke with CSD Directors, read materials on our website, and asked questions by email.
Hopefully through the process of Measure A we have also raised awareness of who the CSD is, what we do and how to participate in the CSD public processes. We promise to meet your expectations for road improvement and maintenance, as well as the continued delivery of high quality services to our community! Stay involved.
